I’m enjoying this way too much. I’ve got an easy 8 hours into sketchup today.

Kinja'd!!!

From summer beach home to what will be a glass-fronted modern loft. This time I’m doing everything to scale for more realism . My counter depth and stair rise/run is flawless, bro.

If I'd found this program in high school, I either would have gone into design, or flunked out for wasting every second of the day.

Sketchup is one of the best-designed pieces of software I’ve ever encountered. 3D modeling is a hard space but they’ve managed to create a powerful, intuitive, and fast set of tools for it.

I believe it. Skipped the tutorial, watched a 10 minute YouTube vid and figured most t hings out through trial and error , and already making cool things. I wish I had a house so I could make a model it!

I absolutely loved Sketchup when I was in high school, I would spend hours on end designing houses, etc. , and it made me think about becoming an architect. In the end I didn’t because I was intrigued by another program at the same university, and now I have nothing to do with design any more. I did recently fire up Sketchup to make a furniture layout for my appartment, and that did bring back some great memories
